Agrivest Ltd is a private company located in Malawi that is engaged in the large-scale production of macadamia. Agrivest Ltd was founded with the objective of transforming two former tobacco estates into a fully operational Macadamia venture covering over 600 hectares. Agrivest Ltd incorporated Chitakale Estate (Est 1980) and Mwami Estate (Est 2012) in 2020. From 2020, Agrivest exclusively focused on Macadamia production and has garnered substantial investment for expansion from shareholders. 

Currently, the two Macadamia estates in the Mangochi District; Mwame and Chitakale, are each at different stages of development. The estates employ a staff of up to 800 permanent workers, while the Agrivest head office located in Area 43, Lilongwe, employs a staff of 18. 

Once fully established, the 2 estates will produce up to 2,000MT of macadamia dry-nut-in-shell (DNIS) per year, contributing significantly to Malawi’s emerging status as a global macadamia producer, surpassed only by South Africa, Australia, and Kenya.
