Role and Responsibilities

  1. Reporting to Estate Manager
  2. To oversee the cultivation, planting, harvesting and disposition of crops.
  3. To coordinate the care, feeding and breeding of farm animals.
  4. To prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports regarding farm conditions, machinery and other operational issues.
  5. To monitor the maintenance program for farm facilities, machinery and equipment.
  6. To maintain proper safety and sanitary conditions in farm operations.
  7. To consult with research staff in planning soil and crop strategies and number of resident animals.
  8. Oversee and manage field staff, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed on time and within budget
  9. Inspect and review the work done by the team to guarantee it meets the quality, safety, and compliance standards
  10. Provide daily reports to higher management about progress, issues, and proposed solutions
  11. Train and mentor field staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete their tasks
  12. Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that all tasks are understood and carried out correctly
  13. Manage resources effectively, ensuring that all necessary materials and equipment are available when needed
  14. Resolve any field issues or disputes that arise, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  15. Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Field Supervisor or similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of field operations and onsite supervision
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to manage and lead teams
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or relevant field
